Baffin Derrick Men's Composite Toe Extreme Cold Work Boots
The insulated Baffin Derrick cold weather work boot is an ideal choice when you need to stay safe on the job site in sub-zero weather. The Derrick is one of our most popular composite toe work boots; its tall shaft and -148°F/-100°C temperature rating make it a favorite favorite among oil workers, miners, and others who work in the coldest and harshest of environments. Added high visibility reflective strips that ensure safety in low light of dawn or evening. It is both acid, oil and electric shock resistant, and its rubber sole has been tested to withstand cracking in the coldest temperatures.
Customers who work in the Derrick tend to wear their boots ALL day long and they wear them hard. This makes Baffin's removable inner boot liner a critical part of the boot because it can be removed for overnight drying to ensure the liner is bone dry the next morning, an essential feature for a boot to function in top form.
As insulated work boots go, the Baffin Derrick is the warmest boot you can buy. It provides incredible warmth but on the flip side, is not the most agile boot. Some customers find that it is difficult to wear while driving or operating a pedal though that's not to say that we don't have happy customers who operate tow trucks in the dead of night or work in snow removal wearing them throughout their shifts. It's a matter of personal preference. While it's not unusual for customers to be awed by the Baffin Derrick's size, a boot has to be that big to provide the warmth required to keep your feet safe in the worst of the winter. We often hear that the Derrick is surpsingly light given its girth. The Baffin Derrick is one tough, high performing safety boot.
