I've had the Icebug Speed in my winter boot quiver for a few seasons so I was eager to try its follow-up, the Icebug Pace2. I have to hand it to Icebug, my Speeds are still as good as new, even with three seasons of Bernese Mountain Dog dailies behind them. I don't need to replace them, but the Icebug Pace2 fits every bit as well if you're just discovering studded winter boots. I don't know how any dog owner who lives in a wintry area can survive without a pair of Icebug BUGrips. I have never once had a scare, a slip, nothing. Well, maybe once when I wore them into the grocery store. Which begs the question - Can you wear Icebugs inside? Well. We don't recommend it. But, I do if I'm out and desperately need Half and Half, but forgot my indoor shoes. I will admit, walking in the dairy aisle is more treacherous than my icy driveway, but if I step lightly, I can maneuver without attracting too much attention. It would be ironic if the boots you bought to keep you safe on slick streets were the cause of your injury on a linoleum floor so let's try to keep our studded boots confined to the great outdoors.
I find the Icebug Pace2 is true to size, though if you tend upwards, I'd go to the larger size of your tendency. I'm on the 9 side of 8.5 and I like the fit of the 9s, roomy, no break-in. - reviewed by Deb, 8.5 to 9.
